Teen Jailed For Murdering Iraqi Immigrant

A Texas teenager has been sentenced to 38 years in prison for shooting an Iraqi man who had been in the US three weeks and was taking photos of his first ever snowfall.
Ahmed al Jumaili, 36, was gunned down outside his Dallas apartment in front of members of his family on 4 March 2015.
Nykerion Nealon was 17 when he fired more than a dozen rounds from an AK-47, striking Mr al Jumaili once in the chest. He died the following day in hospital.
Police say 19-year-old Nealon, who was convicted on Monday, did not know the victim's ethnicity and may have been trying to retaliate for a shooting at his girlfriend's apartment.

Nealon's lawyer had said his client was at the crime scene, but someone else pulled the trigger. However, Nealon's own friend testified against him.
Prosecutors also said that shortly after the shooting Nealon searched online for how to beat a murder charge and survive prison.
Mr al Jumaili had arrived in the US just 20 days earlier to be reunited with his wife after more than a year apart.
He had saved money by providing internet connections for Iraqi homes, his father-in-law, Mohammed Altaae, said.
"For a young man and a young woman, oh, God, so many dreams together," Mr Altaae said.
"They wanted to have children and educate them well."
