In the wake of the San Bernardino, Calif., massacre, authorities are looking into the possibility that female shooter Tashfeen Malik was a radicalized "operative," according to reports.
Adam Housley explained on "The Kelly File" that investigators are almost certain that Malik was radicalized overseas and her husband and partner in the San Bernardino massacre, Syed Farook, was radicalized in the U.S.
"They say that [Malik] and her family may be radicalized as well, and that's where the investigation is going," Housley reported. "They say because of that, they are looking into the possibility that she was some sort of operative ... when she came here to the states radicalized."
Housley added that there are now reports that both Farook and Malik pledged allegiance to ISIS after the attack.
Counterterrorism expert Dr. Sebastian Gorka told Megyn Kelly that as more evidence emerges, it appears that Farook and Malik displayed "classic jihadi trade craft" in the San Bernardino attack.
"We don't have to have command and control back to Iraq or back to Syria, just patterns of what they're doing," Gorka said. "Surveilling a place beforehand - classic jihadi trade craft - videoing it, using money under false pretenses ... we've all seen this before."
He added that Malik is far from the first female jihadi, as there have been notable examples of women involved in terrorism in Chechnya, Iraq and even recently in Paris.
"This shouldn't surprise anybody."
