A farmer has been seriously hurt after being knocked over and kicked in the head by a cow.
The victim, believed to be in his 50s, was flown to hospital by air ambulance after suffering head, neck, back and chest injuries.
Paramedics said the accident happened at about 11.30am on Sunday morning at a property near Bishop Auckland in County Durham.
A Great North Air Ambulance Service helicopter escorted him to James Cook Hospital, Middlesbrough, in a journey that took 15 minutes.
He was handed over to doctors in a stable condition.
It is believed he is now being cared for in a speciality treatment unit.
