Man Dies As Severe Storms Disrupt Sydney

A man was killed and his female passenger critically injured when a falling tree crushed their car in the west of the city.
The country's busiest airport was hit by winds of up to 122 kmph (76 mph), ripping down power lines and closing roads which were left impassable by twisted metal and roofing panels.
Authorities are urging people to stay at home and away from windows.
"Substantial damage has been caused to a number of homes, cars and power lines," New South Wales state police said in a statement.
The winds, rain and hail followed a sweltering day with temperatures reaching 39C (102F).
Sydney Airport on Twitter urged would-be travellers to check with airlines for details about their flights.
