Gellar Confirms Cruel Intentions Role Return

Sarah Michelle Gellar has confirmed she is to reprise the role she played in the cult 1999 film Cruel Intentions for a television pilot.
The actress revealed the news in posts on Instagram and Twitter where she said: "Everybody loves me and I intend to keep it that way" #kathrynmerteuil #CruelTV."
NBC is planning a series which picks up 15 years after the film was released and follows Gellar's character Kathryn Merteuil as a grown-up.

Gellar shared an image of original producers Roger Kumble and Neal H Moritz, who are both returning for the NBC incarnation.
Kathryn is described as a "smart, sexy, cruel, charismatic, powerful" manipulator.
It is not known how much Gellar will feature in the show, if the series gets commissioned.
Kumble also wrote LA Cruel Intentions musical which played last year and prompted Gellar to reunite with her co-stars Reese Witherspoon and Selma Blair.
Cruel Intentions would mark a major return to TV for Gellar who starred in the long-running hit Buffy The Vampire Slayer which began in 1997 and more recently The Crazy Ones with the late Robin Williams.
Gellar, 38, is married to another 90s star, Freddie Prinze Jr, and the couple have two children.
