MPs' salaries will rise by 1.3% from April to £74,962, the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) has said.
The £962 increase comes nine months after politicians received a backdated boost to £74,000.
IPSA said in a statement: "This is in line with our determination on MPs' pay, published in July 2015, where we committed to adjusting MPs' pay for the rest of this Parliament at the same rate as changes in public sector earnings published by the Office for National Statistics.
"The ONS index takes account of promotions and bonuses which may explain why the figure is higher than the one per cent wider public sector pay policy."
Sky's Senior Political Correspondent Sophy Ridge said the increase would "inevitably" cause controversy.
She said: "It splits opinion. There are some who think MPs should be paid enough to attract the best people to the role.
"But I think why this is particularly sensitive is the fact that the Government is currently capping public sector pay rises at 1%.
"So with this increase, which will see MPs pay rise to £74,962, they are effectively busting through that 1% cap."
