When Sir Terry met David Bowie

David Bowie's band, Tin Machine, appeared to play their new single You Belong in Rock and Roll.
It was with his usual wit that Sir Terry introduced them, only later admitting David Bowie was one of his more difficult guests.
"Keep an eye on their promising young vocalist" he said referring to lead singer, Bowie.David Bowie, who died from cancer on 10 January this year, appeared in a lime green suit with the three other band members.
Afterwards, Sir Terry chatted to them while they stood on the stage
It didn't go hugely well with Sir Terry asking: "It's new for us to see you as part of a band rather than fronting a big spectacular, why did you decide to do it?"
David Bowie replied: "It gives me a new insight in to washing habits."
He later admitted in his autobiography Is It Me? that it was one of his hardest ever interviews.
"For some reason best known to him he came on the show unwilling to talk," he said.
