Two Killed In Murder-Suicide On UCLA Campus


Two men have been killed in a murder-suicide at the University of California, Los Angeles, say police.
LAPD Chief Charlie Beck said the shooting took place in a small office at an engineering building on campus.
Police responded to reports of gunfire at 9.55am local time, and the university was put on lockdown.
The LAPD confirmed two adult males were found with gunshot wounds, but it is not clear if they are students or staff.

The campus later reopened and the lockdown was lifted.
It is finals week at the renowned university, but classes were cancelled for the day and were expected to resume on Thursday.
Chief Beck hinted at the possibility that a suicide note was found at the scene, though he did not provide further details.  
Police earlier told those on campus to shelter in place.
Students reportedly used belts and other objects in an effort to barricade doors during the lockdown.
The entire city of Los Angeles was placed on tactical alert as a precaution after the incident.
A number of police officers swooped on the 400-acre campus on the west side of the city.
Agents from the FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also went to the scene.
Aerial footage showed students walking out in single file with their hands above their heads.
