Camilla appeared emotional as one woman described how she was shot by her estranged husband after she attempted to leave him and end their 18-year marriage.
Rachel Williams, from Newport, explained how the attack began when she was struck over the head with a shotgun at the hairdressers where she worked.
The 43-year-old told the Duchess: "I had the presence of mind to pull my legs up to my chest as he took aim and fired the first shot taken by my leg, which has left me with life-altering injuries. Thankfully, the second shot just missed my head."
Ms Williams described how a "supernatural strength" allowed her to grab the gun when her partner attempted to reload it.
She and other victims at the charity event used everyday objects to help tell their stories - and Ms Williams showed Camilla the watch she had been wearing on the day of the attack, which was left badly damaged as she fought for control of the shotgun.
Her son Jack took his own life when he was 16 "because he could not cope with what his father had done," Ms Williams added.
Camilla, who was visiting the offices of the SafeLives charity, which works to safeguard those at risk from harm, thanked the organisation's staff and supporters for speaking out.
"All of you going around and talking about it does create awareness," she added.
